![]() Maybe someday we might see an actual space survival game or find server owners brave enough to actually make their server challenging without all the freebies and extras to make the experience easier. ![]() Would love to see a lot more technology added and spread out over more than 25 levels, while also increasing the amount of time it takes to earn each level. How do they expect to get any proper feedback if the devs aren't willing to offer official servers with all the features turned on and regular wipes? When I tried out the official server yesterday running 9.3, I was actually very disapointed as the official servers do not have the weight system turned on. Overall, the general tone of most servers caters to those who require easy starts, unlimited resources, freebies, and a worry free atmosphere as they cannot handle the prospect of losing anything and having to spend some time to recover / make up for that loss. ![]() There are even some servers that use virtual backpacks that make losing resources a mute issue as you can store all your stuff in it (bag of holding you magically summon using /vb) and only need 1 weapon + ammo on your hotbar to storm a base and die over and over without fear of losing what you collect as you simply stash it all in this magic virtual backpack as you collect them. Sadly there are too many easy mode gimmicks being used on most of the hosted servers such as large cache of free resources upon starting, free SV / HV / CV upon reaching basic low levels, bonus resources, admin power cores that give unlimited power and O2. There is very little real challenge to the game in it's current state, unless you find a decent server that actually makes things much harder in both scope of how difficult the enemy levels are, how much resources are on a planet, etc. On normal, (such as playing on either of the official Eleon servers), you can level up to 25 within a few hours by simply shooting mobs and picking organic resources. ![]() The game is very moddable and easy to select how fast you want to set the xp, fast, normal, slow. I would hate to see them survive in the real world where you have to take time to do things. Unfortunately there is a larger group of instant gratification gamers / kiddos today that believe being required to invest any amount of time = grind. ![]()
